Lori Lewis has straight As, a comfy student council position, (mostly) supportive friends, and doting parents. No girl in Seaview High could ask for more.
She wants a change, though. Some excitement. Maybe a new boyfriend wouldn't hurt.
Resigned to the monotony of her responsibilities in this tiny coastal town, she bumps into a stranger. Everyone knows him as Seaview's punk.
His name is Taylor Rose.
Could the dicey rumors about him be true? Or is he the change she needs? Could he hold the keys to the excitement she yearns for?

omg, i LOVE this game, i love those early 2010s, late 2000s vibes. i love the soundtrack, i love the character development, the plot, the sprites but most of all i love taylor. like the way i got completely immersed into the game, i just sat in my chair for like 6 hours, just playing. and ugh did i hate it when the game ended. 11/10, loved it.

OMGGG!!!! What a wonderful story! The happy and giddy girl noises I made as I went through all the chapters were some of the most excited noises that I have ever made! The tension, the twists and turns, and romantic scenes not only had me hyped but also and entire chat of livestream viewers! Thank you dev team! May this story go far an wide for several people to enjoy!

heyy thank you sm! The full release is hard to pin down at the moment but the next update is likely coming next year. We'll resume production again by December. :))
I finally caught up with the update and it was a real treat!
Did you enjoy it overall?
Absolutely! I enjoyed the high school/summer vibes, the story was engaging, and I really love the main friend group. it was cool to see all the new sprites (Luke, Isabella, Faith, Coral, unnamed characters) and sprite variations (uniforms, casual, ball). Ch7 was also the perfect stopping point where it's not so much of a major cliffhanger, but still leaves you wanting more.
Who was your favorite character?
Probably Lori! But I also have a soft spot for Reese and wouldn't have minded him as a route option.
How did you find the music?
Fantastic! It worked really well with the tone of the story and I never found any of them to be repetitive/boring. I also love how that one song plays whenever Luke walks into a room so it's like he has a theme track of his own.
What are you looking forward to for future updates?
Everything that you're aiming for the full game sounds fantastic! I'm especially looking forward to more friend group shenanigans, and a Taylor POV sounds cool.
Anything else you want to tell us?
- The phone transitions back to the usual screen can be a bit janky (repeated final text or glitchy sprite movement), but they don't interfere with the story at all. However being able to see pictures sent over the phone was cool!
- I really liked all the contact photos that Lori has saved on her phone! I know they're extra effort but I appreciated them :D
- I liked the flavor text options! Knowing that there aren't going to be major negative consequences allows for a more relaxing playthrough because I don't have to think too much about picking the 'wrong' answer. I noticed that some of them are locked (probably depending on answers you've selected previously) and I like how that gives Lori consistency.
Overall the Falling Stars update was great! I'm definitely looking forward to the next update (I'm guessing there's more taylor backstory in store) but for now I hope the team has a restful hiatus! :D

So I've only played a small part of Meteor Shower, since I prefer to wait until a game is fully out before I play it, but I just wanna say that I loved the writing style. many otome games have characters that are basic, bland, and predictable, but Meteor Shower isn't one of them. I love how the characters sound mature enough to be interesting as characters but still act their age. I'll be looking forward to the full game.

We really do take a lot of care into writing each of the characters because at this point we talk about them more like our dear friends than fictional people xD super glad it shines through even in the early stages :))
So I decided to play the game and i absolutely LOVED IT! I like most of the characters, (even though Scarlett was a prick) but i sorta (?) understand why she was acting that way. I chewed her out a few times... Gosh.
I kinda expected Taylor to be a Green Day fan (since y'know the weed and all) and I was surprised in a good way when I saw Mayday Parade being referenced in the game!!! I just had to stop for a few minutes and listen to "Jamie All Over". Not to mention how ecstatic I was when I saw Taylor's playlist. Man's got some great taste for sure and he ain't no gatekeeper! I am highly biased on this one, but he has to be my favourite. Not just because he is the main love interest, but his music preferences won me over. :)
I fell in love with Lori! I wasn't expecting her to have that much dept as a character, as most dating sim protagonists don't have much of a personality at times. Even though the player gets to choose how she acts, we can still see Lori's traits and emotions shining through. I love the dynamics she displayed with the rest of the cast. It just worked well and flowed so naturally. ^-^
I absolutely love Bernadette!!! She's a wise bestie that knows what to do in certain situations. It really felt like having a true best friend. I was so happy to know that she had an interest in music. She is so much more than just someone who we can tell our secrets to. Plus, her relationship with Julio is just so CUTE! I kinda wished they could've gotten more screentime as a couple, but that would deviate attention from the main focus of the story... :3
I felt a bit awkward when Reese was in the scene. Probably because of the history of his relationship with Lori. He was annoying sometimes, but he had motives to be so. Who wouldn't lose their mind with a sibling like that, huh? Unfortunately for me, I can relate to that aspect. Which is why I understood his appeal. He has such a brotherly aura.
Scarlett was just a handful. Totally resembles the monster I have at home. I'm glad that she made a friend though. Maybe that'll encourage her to not be so spoiled and snoopy.
I can't even describe how awesome the music was. It really helps the player to immerse completly in the story, as it accompanied the sudden shifts and revelations in the plot. The music felt like a scenery on its own. It did so much more than it needed to. Taylor's ringtone is badass btw.
Overall, it was a fun game. I would have loved to see more of Lori's career prospects, a bit of lore from Taylor's past and the events that would unfold as their relationship becomes progressivly deeper. I bet her parents wouldn't like that much... I wonder how they will find out too. I am 100% sure that Lori's mother will faint.
UHMMM HELLO???? oh my god my monkey brain just activated the second you mentioned Jamie All Over! You got me to put on A Lesson In Romantics again istg (which recently celebrated 15 years too I follow mayday parade on twitter, gosh i feel so old) xD
Truth be told Taylor's playlist was just my playlist in high school, just replace the mega enthusiasm for mayday parade with paramore. Though, Mayday Parade is way up there in my list of faves.My fangirling aside, We're so glad to see that you enjoyed the VN! We really did put a lot of thought into depicting the characters as nuanced and realistically as we possibly could and I'm glad it shines through. Don't worry about Julio and Bernadette though, Julio especially is gonna be the focus of the next major arc for the second update so stay tuned for that! Was thinking "soundtrack of my summer" type next few chapters.
Beyond that i am actually so happy that you feel that way about the soundtrack???
Pyr and I have been making music for years now, a lot of it unreleased but there's been a mounting pile of songs that i've written and he's produced in our computers. I write the songs and he produces the music. We're like HUGE HUGE music nerds, and on top of that I'm a film nerd too, so we REALLY put emphasis on making the soundtrack as cohesive and elevating to the narrative as it could possibly be. To see that someone recognizes that it did much more than it needed to really warms my heart!!! The nights staying up talking and discussing influences for the soundtrack (Taylor Swift and Mayday Parade mostly because our protagonist and LI love them so), really helped us create this soundscape that we can be really proud of especially when it feels as effective as we wanted it to be!
Lori's career prospects are definitely going to factor into later updates and we're going to get TAYLOR LORE!!!! That boy's been through a lot, dear god. xD
Anyway thank you again so much for even taking the time to send us all this! It totally made my day and it makes me ecstatic to find someone who likes mayday parade in the comments omg!! I hope you like the next updates in the future. :))

I fell in love with all the cast wth?!?!? I swear evrything was fantastic, the writing,the syle, the characters!! ALL. Taylor is so sweet i luv him,but then i wanted to date reese AND luke (i love annoying characters :P) i reaallyy like the game and how evryone feels, like they feel like actuall teens and you can relate to it. Also WHEN I SAW THE CLERK. MY MY- hes sososo. Literally giggling and kicking my feet(same with Luke) ANYWAYS tysm for making the game!! i have a question tho, the game will only have taylor as a love interest? I would love to see more routes <33 as I said ty for this incredible game!!

I loved this. I played through all of it and annoyed my friends with my chatter about these loveable idiots. Seriously, real teens with actual teen feels going here. Especially how everyone deals with the Scarlett situation.
I will say, Taylor's art feels... rushed, compared to the rest of the cast. Like, the side characters are crisper and cleaner than our love interest. Gives it a vibe that the artist didn't love Taylor as much as we do.
That said, I'll be watching for future updates, because this game is stunning and I am here for it.

Thanks too for giving your feedback about the art. I am the only artist of the game, and I write and program it as well. I am aware the sprites are rather inconsistent, especially comparing to the sprites I've drawn last year vs. the new side characters we added to the update.
I can't promise that I will update the older sprites eventually as that's very tiring considering that this is a free VN and if I keep going back to redo assets then I doubt we'll ever finish it but perhaps for the final update I could.

This update was amazing!! I got to love even more this game 🥺 I had already played the demo when it was released and since then I kinda lost track of the project 🥲 But after this release I'm staying for sure!!
All the characters were authentic as you don't always start out loving them...(SCARLETT 🥴) But even so that's what I liked the most: they are real teenagers! Also the relationship between Lori and Taylor is so sweet 💞 The pacing, moments, flirting and how they get to know each other are more than perfect 💗

this was amazing!! oh my god. i have a soft spot for slice-of-life, and this really, really took the cake for me. i adore this visual novel. it truly played with my feelings. i found myself laughing so much!!! and usually, comedic timing is really difficult to do imo - but you guys just cracked the code. i love how nuanced every single character is. like, it's never a dull moment with any of them!! i absolutely loveee all the sprite-work, like - the expressions are cute, the outfits are amazing. i can't say it enough, the sprites are spectacular!!!! the art style, in general. my god. the artwork, the sheer amount of cgs, there's so much love poured into this and it's well fucking worth it - because it really ties the entire experience together!!! so much details in this vn is like, the cherry on top of the chocolate syrup on top of the whipped cream on top of the sundae!! god!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the writing for the characters is so lovely, too. they all felt flawed and grounded, and i really appreciated it. nobody's perfect!!! they all felt like real teenagers, grappling with real teenager problems and emotions and shit. i found myself hating characters, then loving them the next moment. scarlett, especially, grinded my gears - but thinking of how a lonely freshman girl might feel, with strict parents and a pencil-pusher (read my tone as fond, mostly) brother... i can't exactly blame her. she got a sick tattoo, honestly. props to her. (also, "I don't even like guys"?? i see you, scar.)
i could go on forever and ever about this vn, but i'll leave it after this note. i do hope we see more of lori's passion for music!! pick up that acoustic guitar, girl!! follow your dreams!!!!!!!!!!!!! i believe she can be the next taylor swift, i believe in her. i'm also hoping on more mentions of cody, but i also understand if he's simple just - "the one that got away" sorta deal. "right guy, wrong time" maybe. he's probably off in college now, hope he's doing good too - even if he ghosted our girl. all to say, what an amazing game!!!! <3 you all did spectacular. This was a wonderful demo! I enjoyed all the friendship shenanigans, the music, and the nostalgic feel of the story. The fact that the sprites had so many poses kept things less static as well. Keep up the good work!! :D

We had a lot of fun writing this game too, remembering high school, and how our classmates generally acted. We did take the approach of being tongue and cheek about a lot of things and how messy teenagers tend to be in that stage of their life. A lot of laughter involved in the writing process for sure.

I've never been much of a visual novel person, so keep that in mind when I say I really enjoy this game. The characters are all fun and interesting, not to mention the fact that it gets some good laughs out of me at times. I really appreciate how natural they all feel!

jk but otherwise honestly really loved playing this with you guys! <3 solid characterization, also really loved how the art just gave that nice nostalgic vibe with the blurs and roughness; felt like i was a high schooler again. music was also really good in helping set the mood, and also appreciated how relatable it felt through cringe and thin.
but yea so proud!!!! loved the demo and can’t wait to see more!
